Discover New York
New York City, the most populous city in the US with over 8 million people, is at the centre of international finance, politics, entertainment and culture. It is one of the world’s major global cities with a virtually unrivalled collection of museums, galleries, performance venues, media outlets, international corporations and stock exchanges. The city is also home to the United Nations and all of its associated international missions.
With over 40,000 students, NYU's campuses are spread throughout the city, from midtown Manhattan to the heart of Greenwich Village and even downtown Brooklyn.
NYU's core location near Washington Square Park is in historic Greenwich Village. The epicentre of the city's 1960s counterculture movement plus home to generations of writers, musicians, artists and intellectuals, the tree-lined streets of Greenwich Village are now a hub of popular cafes, bars and restaurants. Jazz clubs and Off-Broadway Theaters can also be found amid the brownstones and NYU buildings.
With access to several subway and bus lines, no neighbourhood or place of interest is out of reach.
