By plane

McGhee Tyson Airport serves Knoxville and is located 11 miles from the campus. All major airlines, including American Airlines, Delta and United serve this airport from most major cities within the US.

By public transport

Several bus routes provide frequent services between downtown Knoxville and the campus. The closest stop is Cumberland Ave WB and James Agee Street. The Student Union is then just a 2-minute walk from the bus stop. Directions can be found here.

Bus 11 – towards Sutherland/ Kingston Pike

Bus 12 – towards Western Avenue

Bus 15 – towards Woodland Crosstown

By car

By Uber and Lyft

Both Uber and Lyft are widely used across Knoxville. Please use the drop-off address 1502 Cumberland Ave, Knoxville, TN 37916.

Some attendees may require a visa to enter the US. Please note that it can take several weeks to process a visa application so early application is recommended.

We can provide visa invitation letters for ticket holders when requested. Please email a photo/scan of your passport to events@timeshighereducation.com once you have booked your ticket.

We cannot accept any responsibility for visa applications. Where a delegate is unable to attend because of failure to obtain a visa on time, the normal cancellation policy for the ticket fee will apply.

We recommend having travel insurance for the duration of your trip. Please contact your travel agent for further details.

Delegates are responsible for reserving and covering the cost of accommodation for the duration of their stay.
