    Greetings from Virginia Tech

Dear THE Innovation & Impact Summit delegates

Virginia Tech is proud to co-host the 2025 THE Innovation & Impact Summit, marking the first time this prestigious event will be held in North America. The summit’s theme, “Securing tomorrow: Partnerships and technology for a resilient future”, aligns with Virginia Tech’s strategic focus on innovating for secure and resilient communities. Our faculty, students and partners are actively engaged in addressing critical security challenges that resonate across institutions worldwide.

This summit presents a unique opportunity to engage in vital conversations about topics such as research security in today’s interconnected world, emerging technologies and their policy implications, educating a security-enabled workforce and more.

It is our privilege to host you in the US at Virginia Tech’s newest academic building, located in the vibrant greater Washington DC metro area. Beginning in January 2025, this 300,000 square foot structure in Alexandria, Virginia, will serve as a hub for learning and innovation, just minutes from the nation’s capital and federal district. We look forward to welcoming you there in November 2025.

About Virginia Tech’s new academic building in Alexandria

Virginia Tech’s academic building in Alexandria, Virginia, which opened to the public in February 2025, is a state-of-the-art hub for the university’s growing network of innovation in the greater Washington, D.C., area. The building embodies the future of education, offering world-class facilities that put our students at the center of emerging technology breakthroughs. Our location positions the university near diverse industries and leading tech companies, including Amazon’s HQ2. The new academic building was born out of Virginia’s successful bid for Amazon’s second headquarters, with Virginia Tech playing a key role in the commonwealth’s commitment to growing a tech talent pipeline.
