    Agenda themes

Research security in a connected world

Collaboration across borders is essential for advancing science, deepening our understanding of global trends and mitigating risk. While this growing openness accelerates discovery, it also introduces vulnerabilities - cyberattacks, threats to national security and strains on research integrity. Sessions will explore how can we balance open science, innovation and resilience in the quest for a thriving global, interconnected landscape.

    Cybersecurity

As digital threats grow in scale and sophistication, the need to secure critical systems and data has become a priority. This makes accelerating research aimed at protecting computer systems and safeguarding sensitive information essential. This series of sessions will explore technology diplomacy such as the Open Radio Access Network (ORAN) initiative, which fosters collaboration for secure next-generation wireless communications.

    Security at the interfaces

Interfaces play a vital role in enabling secure communication and interaction across systems, devices, and users. This theme examines these intersections within the contexts of technology, supply chains, and biological systems. Topics will highlight best practices for assessing supply chain vulnerabilities and strengthening resilience through diversification, redundancy, and innovation.

    Emerging technologies and policy

Explore the importance of cross-sector collaboration and the pivotal role of higher education in realising the potential of emerging technologies. From artificial intelligence to quantum computing, dive into how we can harness their transformative potential safely and strategically with forward-thinking, adaptive policies that balance innovation with responsibility.
