Revolution or evolution: what lies ahead for Indian Higher Education?
10–11 FEBRUARY 2021
In the wake of the pandemic, the THE India Universities Forum 2021 brought together Indian higher education professionals to explore the challenges and opportunities on the road to excellence.
Leaders and academics from across the subcontinent gathered to explore the resource deficit impacting online teaching and learning in Indian higher education, along with the barriers to social and cultural equity in education provision and participation.
We discussed the implications of the recently approved National Education Policy, the massification of the sector, and how steps towards internationalisation and opening up to international branch campus provision could put Indian higher education firmly on the global stage.
Finally, we considered what universities, government and industry can do to enrich the national innovation ecosystem in light of the consistent improvement in the global innovation index rankings.
The forum also included a data masterclass examining the latest THE data on the performance of Indian universities and providing an in-depth presentation on the rankings within an Indian context.
