    Visas

Everyone entering Azerbaijan must have a valid passport, and you may need a visa. Passports must be valid for at least 6 months after your visa’s expiry date.

Citizens of the following countries can visit Azerbaijan without a visa for up to 90 days: Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan

Citizens from all other countries will require a visa.

Citizens who are not eligible for e-visas should send a photo/scan of their passport and their vaccination certificate (booster dose required) to events@timeshighereducation.com.

Visas can take up to one month to be processed, so early application is recommended. THE and WCU cannot accept any responsibility for visa applications. Where a delegate is unable to attend because of failure to obtain a visa on time, the normal cancellation policy for the registration fee will apply.

We recommend having travel insurance for the duration of your visit. Please contact your travel agent for further details.

    Accommodation

Delegates are responsible for reserving and covering the cost of accommodation for the duration of their stay. Demand for hotels and flights can be high in September, so we recommend booking as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Please find below two recommended hotels for which we have secured discounted rates for our delegates. Simply phone or email the hotel and mention the discount code to reserve your room.

A shuttle bus service will be provided for delegates departing from Central Park Hotel to the event venue. Delegates staying at Midtown Hotel can take a short walk to Central Park Hotel and alight the shuttle bus from there.

    Getting there

Delegates are responsible for their travel arrangements and travel costs to and from Baku.

Baku is served by Haydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD), which offers convenient public transport options to downtown. Baku is easily accessible by car and bus.

We recommend booking buses or taxis via the Heydar Aliyev International Airport website as all their drivers are fully licensed. Aero Express buses run regularly between the airport and the city.

    Discover Baku

Baku, also known as the City of Winds, is the capital and by far the largest city on the Caspian Sea. It is a combination of historical and modern architecture, famous for hospitable and friendly people, and the cuisine is no exception. According to Lonely Planet's ranking, Baku is also among the world's top ten destinations for urban nightlife.
