Greetings from Illinois Institute of Technology
It is a true honor to welcome you to Digital Universities US 2023.
Illinois Tech was born in Chicago more than 130 years ago with the noble mission of educating students from all walks of life to advance technology, innovation and progress for all. Here on our nationally landmarked campus, designed by Modernist luminary Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, that commitment to expanding access and opportunity guides us still today. We are #1 in Illinois in the intergenerational economic mobility of our students and lead the state and much of the nation in return on investment. Illinois Tech is singularly focused on job readiness for our students.
Fueled by that founding mission, we are now embarking on an ambitious initiative to create a new type of university for the 21st century, one that reimagines education to ensure that learning is available to all learners, anytime, anywhere; one that advances relevance-inspired discovery; and one that utilizes our knowledge and learning enterprises to be purpose-driven leaders in all our communities.
We know we are not the only institution on this journey. It is our privilege to welcome fellow innovators and thought leaders from around the world who are helping to chart a path to the possibilities we can build together. We look forward to engaging and enlightening discussions and to the opportunity to learn and imagine ways of building the mission-driven digital university of the future.
We are excited to partner with Times Higher Education in widening and enriching the scope of this dialogue, and I look forward to seeing you in Chicago this May.
Sincerely,
Raj Echambadi
