The inaugural THE Sub-Saharan Africa Universities Forum focused on what universities in the region need to do to deliver transformational teaching and research, ensure sustainable opportunities for their current students, as well as graduates, and improve citizenship across the continent.

The forum featured the official launch of the THE Sub-Saharan Africa University Rankings 2023, the methodology of which was developed by THE’s data team in consultation with a consortium of African and international higher education organisations. THE independently managed all data collection and calculations, and the ranking was created in partnership with Mastercard Foundation.
