    Host partner

Welcome from the University of Bath

We are delighted to host you here at the University of Bath for Student Success UK&IE 2026, in partnership with Times Higher Education. I hope you will make the most of our superb campus facilities and enjoy the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath.

It is a pleasure to welcome colleagues from across the UK and Ireland as we focus on improving student outcomes through innovative teaching practices, effective support services and the data that drives them.

At Bath, student success is central to our mission. We are proud to have created something really special at our university, with strengths forged from years of hard work, talent and ambition.

Alongside outstanding teaching, extensive well-being provision and exceptional facilities, we offer strong careers guidance and placement opportunities that prepare our students for the future. Our students enjoy some of the best graduate prospects in the country, and we are proud to support them in whatever direction they choose. We are always striving to do even better, implement best practices and pioneer new approaches to benefit our students.

This conference provides a valuable opportunity to learn from one another, hear from leading voices and experience innovative approaches to teaching, learning, engagement and analytics. I encourage you to make the most of the sessions, discussions and networking opportunities throughout your time with us.

Thank you for joining us at Bath, and for your dedication to advancing student success across our universities.

    About the University of Bath

At Bath, we are known for excellence in teaching and research, our welcoming community, and for providing students with outstanding preparation for the workplace. We are:

    • Top 10 in all national league tables
    • Sport University of the Year in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2026
    • Ranked joint fifth for career after 15 months by the Guardian University Guide 2026, with 90% of graduates in graduate-level jobs or further study at professional or HE level within 15 months of graduating
    • Triple Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2023

Our academic programmes provide both rigorous intellectual challenge and real-world relevance, allowing students to learn from researchers who are leaders in their field. Our courses are designed to prepare students for the workplace – we have collaborated closely with employers and industry panels to ensure they reflect contemporary professional needs and remain at the cutting edge of knowledge and practice.

Our research is internationally recognised for its real-world impact, addressing major global challenges. In the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021, 92% of our research was rated as world-leading or internationally excellent. We are particularly strong in areas that shape the future: digital technologies, healthcare innovation and sustainability.

Career development at Bath begins as soon as students arrive. They benefit from tailored guidance, workshops and one-to-one appointments throughout their studies and after graduation. Most undergraduate courses and some postgraduate programmes offer professional placements, while postgraduate students may also complete a consultancy project through the Practice Track instead of a dissertation.

Our vibrant campus sits on the edge of the historic city of Bath and offers extensive sporting, social and cultural opportunities. Over the past decade, more than £450 million has been invested in new accommodation, teaching facilities and sports infrastructure, including an Olympic legacy swimming pool and a multi-floor fitness centre. Students enjoy over 200 Students’ Union clubs and societies, along with dedicated well-being, mental health, disability and international support services.

Bath is a lively, historic city surrounded by beautiful countryside. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage site, as one of the Great Spas of Europe and for its Roman heritage and Georgian architecture.
