Getting around
Delegates are responsible for their travel arrangements and travel costs to and from Melbourne.
Public transport
Melbourne has a public transport network of trains, trams and buses servicing all parts of the city and outer suburbs. It is reliable, safe and easy to use.
The myki public transport ticketing system uses a plastic smart card that you store value on to pay for your fares. It works in metropolitan Melbourne and some regional areas. Buy your myki card in advance here.
Visit the Public Transport Victoria (PTV) website for comprehensive information on public transport including timetables, routes, maps, journey planners, fares and concession cards.
Taxi and rideshare
Melbourne taxis are easy to spot as they are typically painted yellow, silver or white and feature a lamp on the roof.
You can book a taxi pick-up from a set location, take one from a taxi rank at signposted spots or hail one in the street. If the rooftop lamp is lit, the taxi is usually unoccupied and available for hire.
Ridesharing is available via apps such as Uber, Taxify and DiDi. Apps show fare estimates, driver's pictures and vehicle details, and can track your trip on a map.
