Welcome to the University of Exeter
It is a real pleasure to welcome you to Exeter for Digital Universities UK 2024.
We’re on a journey to become the most accessible and connected university destination, and we want you to join us. We want to connect and collaborate with our higher education partners, policymakers and the wider industry to explore how we can harness the enormous potential of the digital revolution. We want to learn from the world and help lead the transformation and set new benchmarks for higher education.
We pride ourselves on delivering a world-class experience for our entire university community and are at the forefront of digital transformation in our teaching and research activities.
At The University of Exeter, we have a fantastic team of digital experts who have been inspiring people to try new things and learn from others, inspiring its community to take a digital-first approach to enhancing everything it does.
Digital technologies are transforming what we do and how we do it, and we see many in the sector investing in digital technology and skills development. We will showcase how we are using technology to develop a greener, healthier and fairer world and preparing students with the skills they need for the future workplace. You will have the opportunity to create new connections from across the globe, immersing yourself in the experience through ‘doing’.
We look forward to welcoming you to embrace the digital transformation of higher education.

About the University of Exeter
The University of Exeter is a member of the prestigious Russell Group of top UK research universities, having been ranked 137th in the world according to the THE World University Rankings 2023 and 13th in the UK in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023. We welcome over 30,000 students from more than 150 countries to our four campuses: Streatham and St Luke’s in Exeter, and Penryn and Truro in Cornwall.
The university combines world-class research with excellent student satisfaction, and we are proud to have been ranked first amongst Russell Group universities for overall student satisfaction in the National Student Survey 2022. The Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2021 review showed that we are doing more research, of better quality, with a bigger impact on the world than ever before. Our world-leading research impact grew more than any other Russell Group university, more than 99 per cent of our research was rated of international quality and 12 of our subjects were in the Top 10 for world-leading impact.
In October 2021 we launched our ambitious Strategy 2030, which set out an agenda for significant change over the coming years, underpinned and driven by digital transformation. Our strategy aims to use our outstanding education, research and global connections to lead meaningful action against the climate emergency and ecological crisis; make key breakthroughs to transform human health and wellbeing; and lead the progress towards creating a fair, socially just and inclusive society.
Our vision is to be a globally networked university, offering outstanding education and research opportunities for our communities, and creating strong global partnerships to tackle the world’s biggest challenges. With our alumni, colleagues, students and global university partners, we bring the world to Exeter and take Exeter to the world.
