Getting to City University of Hong Kong
City University of Hong Kong is located in Kowloon Tong, which is approximately 31 kilometres (19.3 miles) from Hong Kong International Airport (HKG).
By Airport Express
Airport Express trains run between the airport, Kowloon Station, and Hong Kong Station. The trains run approximately every 10 minutes, between 05:54 and 00:48 every day. Trains can be boarded on the same level as the Arrivals Hall at the airport.
The closest Airport Express station to City University of Hong Kong is Kowloon Station. This journey takes about 22 minutes. The journey between the airport and Hong Kong Station is about 24 minutes.
By taxi
The taxi stand is located by the left-hand ramp outside the Arrivals Hall. Hong Kong taxis are colour-coded based on their operating area. Please take a red taxi if you are heading to Kowloon or Hong Kong Island. The journey time from the airport to City University of Hong Kong is between 30 and 45 minutes.

Visas
Some delegates may require a visa to enter the country. Please note that it can take several weeks to process a visa application so early application is recommended.
We can provide visa invitation letters for ticket holders when requested. Please email a photo/scan of your passport to events@timeshighereducation.com once you have booked your ticket.
We cannot accept any responsibility for visa applications. Where a delegate is unable to attend because of failure to obtain a visa on time, the normal cancellation policy for the ticket fee will apply.

What is the main language?
Cantonese is spoken by almost 90% of the population, however English and Putonghua is widely used in commercial and legal activities and is widely spoken in stores and metro stations.
Which currency can I use?
Hong Kong's currency is the Hong Kong Dollar (HKD) which is subdivided into 100 cents. Notes come in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100 and 500 and coins come in denominations of 10, 5, 2 and 1 dollar and 50, 20 and 10 cents. While most shops and restaurants accept credit cards, it is still a good idea to have some cash on you (especially small change). ATMs are easily accessible in most shopping malls, petrol stations and supermarkets.
Which plug socket is used?
Hong Kong uses type D and G plug sockets. The standard voltage is 220 V at a frequency of 50 Hz. We would recommend bringing a universal adapter.
