    Greetings from New Uzbekistan University

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to the THE Central Asia Universities Forum in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on behalf of New Uzbekistan University. The event is set to be the largest educational gathering in the Central Asia region.

The forum aims to bring together high-level decision-makers from academia and industry, fostering a platform where ideas and visions for the future of education can be discussed. Your expertise and insights will be invaluable, helping us enhance the depth and breadth of our collective debates.

I am also excited about Uzbekistan’s potential as a destination for higher education. I served as president of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) for 22 years, embarking on the foundation of TUM Asia in Singapore, where I was inspired by the country’s reformative spirit and opportunity to nurture new talent. Today, I see similar promise in Uzbekistan, a nation on the brink of an educational revolution.

I hope you can join us at the THE Central Asia Universities Forum for three days of informative discussions, lively debates and expert insights into the many opportunities in the region.

    Warm regards,

    Professor Wolfgang A. Herrmann
    Honorary president

    About New Uzbekistan University

New Uzbekistan University (NewUU) is Uzbekistan’s first comprehensive research university where research and education are integrated. Located at the heart of greater Central Asia, we are building the nation’s premier institution as the country embarks to conclude its first decade of political and market economy reforms. NewUU aims to become Central Asia’s flagship university through an official partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Jameel Abdul Latif-World Education Lab and the Technical University of Munich.

Offering a diverse range of programmes, including 10 undergraduate and 3 graduate degrees across the schools of Engineering, Computing, Humanities, Natural & Social Sciences, and Management, the university is tailored to meet the evolving demands of the modern world. By fostering a multidisciplinary approach, NewUU is educating the next generation of leaders and innovators who will lay the groundwork for significant contributions to the local and global knowledge economy.

Beyond its academic offerings, New Uzbekistan University is committed to becoming a local and regional hub for the dissemination of knowledge and best practices in higher education. Through organising local and regional forums, conferences, hackathons and festivals, NewUU actively cultivates a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship, engineering and research. This commitment to outreach and collaboration underscores NewUU's vision of contributing to the broader educational and research community in Uzbekistan and Central Asia.
